Consumer goods firms feel the pinch of high food, input prices

Higher food prices and growing input costs are edging out packaged consumer goods from family budgets, leading to slower volume growth for the segment, a decline that industry experts say could continue.

A Mint analysis of 42 listed consumer goods companies for the December quarter showed that revenue growth slowed to 12.25% over the same period in the previous fiscal, when it grew 18.25%. Source
